Barranco de Masca. Departure:9 a.m. bus station.

Masca is one of the most picturesque parts of the island and is the tip of the northwest that is covered by the Teno Mountains.

Deep ravines interlaced with lush green flora accompany the winding roads. The road leading from Buenavista del Norte passes along narrow hairpin bends towards the village of Masca.

It was until recently virtually unknown, but has now become a centre of attraction for those touring the island. The setting of the village is magical and its houses perch precariously on the narrow ridges of dramatic rock formations.

Reputed to have been a Pirate hideaway, the small Bay of Masca on the coast is a three-hour walk from the village through stunning scenery.

La Ototava city tour and Parque Nacional del Teide. Departure: 9 a.m. bus station.

The town of La Orotava spreads across the immense valley of banana plantations from which the town gets its name. Full of historical buildings and other architecture of noble ancestry, it is without a doubt, an ideal place to come into contact with the local culture and traditions, the island´s history and its brilliant past. The old town centre, which has been declared in its entirety a Monument of National Historical and Artistic Interest, is home to architectural gems of noteworthy character.

The unique scenery created by the volcanic activity from which the island originated is spectacular throughout this protected area, in which tones of yellow and ochre dominate the amazing sea of colours in the area.

The park covers an area of 18,990 hectares and is situated entirely above an altitude of 1,650 metres. Established in 1954, the park was named after the Teide volcano, which at 3,718 metres, is the highest point in Spain. It is necessary to protect oneself from the sun with a hat and carry an item of warm clothing if visiting the park in the afternoon.

In winter, the peak is often covered in snow. During the coldest months, one may also observe the cencellada, a formation of large ice crystals on rocks and plants alike.

A good starting point when visiting the park is the visitors´ centre in El Portillo, which provides plenty of interesting information on the park.

Santa Cruz y la Playa de Las Teresitas. Departure: 9 a.m. bus station.

You can combine a shopping trip to the centre of Santa Cruz with a visit to the nearby and the fantastic Teresitas Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a cosmopolitan, happy and bright city. It looks out onto the sea, is full of interesting sites and has a marked island character. The city is ideal for taking a stroll and relaxing along its avenues and pedestrian streets. Santa Cruz is above all a vibrant city, offering great cultural and leisure activities and a pedestrian shopping area. Its retail outlets offer all sorts of products and manufactured goods from all over the world, at very reasonable prices.

The capital is also an exceptional example of how tradition and modernity can merge to create a clearly rich architectural mix, given that you may find very close to one another streets of a typical Canarian style, next to modern buildings.
The cultural and leisure potential of Santa Cruz is extremely varied. Museums, art exhibitions and different types of shows take place throughout the year. Some of its gardens, squares and avenues are home to permanent sculpture exhibitions considered to be among the best in the world.

Las Teresitas beach is just seven kilometres from the centre of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and attracts both locals and visitors alike. The most popular and family-friendly beach in the area, it is one and half kilometres long with golden sand and dotted with palm trees. There is also a breakwater that protects swimmers from the currents and waves. It has showers, changing rooms and sun loungers available.

Barranco del Infierno. Departure: 9 a.m. bus station.

The track, previously used by goatherds and "canaleros" (people who are in charge of water irrigation channels), starts at the end of Los Molinos street, on the left of a view point from which you can admire the intersection of the Barrancos (ravines) del Infierno and del Agua, it goes on with a mild slope through dry surroundings. In this part there are various view points, an old channel and traditional bee-hives.

The next stretch goes down gently and after a slope, ends in the area known as Acequia Larga (Long irrigation channel), after going across a small brick aqueduct. Acequia Larga is on the West slope and under the aqueduct. At about 2 km. from the beginning you reach the so called Cuevas del Marqués (the Marquis´ Caves), at a height of 455 m. At this point there is a change in the track leaving the dry areas behind and entering the humid and greener part of the ravine. The track goes down quite abruptly in some steps.

You now pass to the other side of the ravine after climbing a small alluvium hill amid large stones. Finally the track curves until you get to La Cogedera. The final part of the excursion follows the bed of the ravine in the middle of a thick, dense vegetation of willow groves and chestnut trees, which you cross through a tunnel which has been naturally created by the vegetation. The end of the track is the Cascade, a waterfall at a height of 560 m., the most outstanding feature of Barranco del Infierno.

La Laguna city tour, Las Mercedes mountains and Taganana. Departure: 9 a.m. bus station.

La Laguna was declared a World Cultural and Heritage Site by Unesco in 1999. The city is the former administrative capital of the island and is currently the second largest urban centre, whilst remaining its religious capital. This monumental city comprises a historic group of buildings, which retain their original layout. The excellent state of conservation of the historical centre has not, however, stopped the city from adapting culturally to modern times.
One of the most important areas to visit in La Laguna is the Plaza del Adelantado. It is surrounded by many historic buildings such as the Municpal Market, the Palacio de Nava, the Convento de Santa Catalina de Siena, the Chapel of San Miguel and the Town Hall.

To see more of La Laguna leave the square along the street, Calle Obispo Rey Redondo, until you reach the Cathedral. A little further on there is the Teatro Leal and finally the Church of the Concepción, whose tower is a symbol of the city. We then come back towards our starting point via the Calle San Agustín. Along this street there are several important buildings, the Instituto de Canarias Cabrera Pinto, the hospital de Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores, the Casa Salazar (headquarters of the Episcopal Palace) and the Casa Lercaro, which houses the Museum of the History of Tenerife.
Then turn left into a street called Calle Viana, along which you will pass the Convent of Santa Clara and at the end reach the Church of Cristo de La Laguna, which contains an excellent gothic carving of Christ. This statue is venerated even beyond the shores of the island. From this point join the road to Las Canteras that goes towards the Anaga Massif. This beautiful, natural area starts at the Monte de Las Mercedes, famous for its laurel forest.  A few kilometres past Las Mercedes take the turning to Taganana, part of the district of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Church of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves in Taganana stands out for its magnificent Flemish triptych. A stop at the viewpoints of the Cruz del Carmen and the Pico del Inglés allows you to enjoy the fantastic scenery all around. Take the turning to the Almáciga Beach, where several restaurants offer the local speciality: fresh fish accompanied by a glass of local wine.

Icod de los Vinos and Garachico city tour, Punta de Teno Departure: 9 a.m. bus station.

Icod de los vinos, located in a very fertile valley, offers the most impressive views of Teide and dense pine forests descend from the peaks to the upper parts of Icod like a cascade of hillside nativity scenes. Banana plantations, vineyards and other fruits are the foundation of a strong commercial activity in the area.

Founded in 1501, the city is a cumulus of manor houses, ancient stately homes, temples and convents. These include, most notably, the church of San Marcos, with its Renaissance portal and baroque altarpiece; San Agustín, San Francisco and Plaza de la Pila square, a particularly original corner of artistic and architectural importance. Icod is home to the 1,000 year-old drago tree, a real wonder of the plant world. The museum of holy art (Museo de Arte Sacro) is also worth a visit.
Garachico - The town has a great historical character and is also pleasant, beautiful and surprisingly peaceful. Until 1706, when most of the town was destroyed by a volcanic eruption, Garachico was the commercial capital of Tenerife. Its architectural importance has earned it the Gold Medal for Fine Arts. Its streets and squares are an example of cleanliness and conservation. A walk through them will discover a town that appreciates the arts and was once home to many renowned personalities, hence the exquisite nature of many of its constructions.

The municipality is also home to an important number of natural areas and beautiful scenery. Its coastline, six kilometres long, is a true monument of nature. From El Guincho to Caleta de Interián, there are spectacular coves for the visitor to explore, surrounded by lava and volcanic sand, which give this part of coast a unique appearance.

Garachico also preserves its traditions in worship and local festivities. In the summer (August) many locals participate in the romerías.

Punta de Teno is situated on the extreme north-west of the island, in the middle of the Natural Park of Teno and where you get dramatic views of the peninsula, coast and the lighthouse of Teno.
