On many beaches all over Tenerife the arrival of the summer solstice on the night of San Juan is celebrated with the traditional bonfires. The celebration has, in almost every place, its own peculiarities but everywhere it is about bonfires and rituals to leave behind the bad and give space to the good through the burning of old objects.

In San Juan de la Rambla and Garachico, north of the Island, this magical night is celebrated with acoustic fireworks and balls of fire made with bags of sawdust. In Icod de los Vinos the hachitos are burned.

In Puerto de la Cruz at Playa Jardín at evening time and in the heat of the bonfires, various musical and visual performances are celebrated, with artists of national and international stature, as well as the performance of folk groups. This party is attended by a large number of inhabitants and tourists, in memory of the aboriginal feast celebrated by the Guanches to celebrate the arrival of the summer solstice.
