The religious celebration recalls how, according to the belief, the saint succeeded in causing the water of Añavingo to flow again.

On Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., there is a mass in the Chapel of the Cross. The great folkloric and romera manifestation begins at 18:00 hours from the small square of the Cross to cross several streets of the town. The Romero parade is headed by the image of San Agustín, followed by clergy, the authorities of the Villa de Arafo, popular carts, carts, parrandas, folk groups and bands.

In this parade they participate a great number of folkloric groups of the islands and “parrandas” adorned with typical costumes. At the end offerings are made to the saint, with products of the field. At night there is dancing and popular verbena.
