The festival of colours or the festival of love has it origin in India.

Hindus celebrate Holi as a spring festival by smearing coloured powder over one another, dancing under water sprinklers, and using water balloons and water guns. The organisers believe that gulal, the coloured powder, intoxicates people so their religion and social status don’t matter.

The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.
