At the beginning the internship was challenging because I had to get to know the computers of the hotel. But after a short while it worked out very well. I’ve learned a lot, for example I had to answer the phone right from the start.
The ambience in the hotel was fantastic, so were my colleagues.
I spent my internship only in reception. My main task was helping guests in several languages. I informed the guests about the excursions in Tenerife and the hotel services. I was also responsible for the Check-In, Check-Out, for the invoices and much more.
My accommodation was amazing. My room was on the 14th floor of the hotel it was a big room with a breathtaking ocean view.
Besides that I had a minibar and a comfortable armchair, so one can say that I lived in my own apartment.
Overall it was a really nice experience.
I’d like to thank you all so much. The language course in the school was also great and I hope to see you again soon.
I miss you all! Nadia

My name is Christina, and I’m in my 6th semester of Tourism Management at the University of Bremen. Within the scope of my studies I’m doing an internship on the holiday island of Tenerife. I was impressed by the FU International Academy internship programme, and they considered my wishes regarding the internship. The four-week language course was very nice and it prepared me for my traineeship. The weather on the Canary Islands is wonderful and a perfect location for an internship in a hotel.

Hola,
we are Jana (23) and Daniela (20) and we are spending this summer on the Canary Islands. We did a language course at the Formcaión F.U. on Tenerife before we started our internships on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. The language course lasted 4 weeks and prepared us in the best possible way with regard to our hotel internships. We enjoyed our stay in Puerto de la Cruz. Together with the other language pupils, we did our best to see a lot of Tenerife during our time there, and we had a lot of fun. Now, we are getting to know the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. It was the right decision to do an internship on the Canary Islands and we will never forget this summer.

Hello, I’m Simon, I’m 26 years old and come from Kiel, Germany. After I finished my professional training in Tourism, as a Commercial Assistant for Foreign Languages, as well as as a Web designer, I wanted to go and live in another country. I lived for 2 years in Andalusia, Spain, and I got the taste for the Spanish lifestyle. In Tenerife I have made another dream come true. I work in the marketing department of a Spanish company and I’m responsible for the design and marketing of websites. This is exactly the kind of work I was looking for. Both the locals and my colleagues are very open-minded, and made me feel at home immediately. The internship is a marvellous experience. I don’t regret my decision to come to Tenerife and I can recommend it to everyone.

In spite of my late application late and the hard terms of my university, the Formación F.U. found a good internship for me. I learned a lot in the Hotel in Fuerteventura and they took care of meby their support and supervision. During my internship I improved my Spanish skills and I made use of my university training. I´m glad that I worked in a 3*** Hotel - that way I had the chance to do more varied tasks. During my internship I lived together with Silva and Cyril from France in an partment and we had a lot of fun together. I enjoyed the time in Fuerteventura and I will never forget it. I’m sure this internship will be helpful for my studies and my career.

The FU international company arranged accommodation for me, a room in a student flat where I met trainees and students from all over Europe. The support on-site was very good. I was cordially welcomed on my first day and during my stay I was in contact with the organiser of the internships, Susana. Tenerife was for me an unforgettable experience. I had the opportunity to get to know the Canary way of live, I got work experience, enjoyed the countryside, the sun and the ocean and met a lot of interesting people. Muchas Gracias!

Hola, I´m Silva, I’m 26 years old and I studied Hotel Management in Berlin. I did an intensive language course in “Tourism and Administration” over four weeks at the language school in Puerto de la Cruz. I was amazed how much you can learn in that short time. The dialogues, games and the copies with tasks, prepared us for our internship at the hotel. After the lessons we went to the beach or we strolled through the town. At weekends, we rented a car and we explored the beautiful landscape of Tenerife. The people are very open-minded and so it was easy to met new friends.

My name is Sabine, I’m 25 years old and I have done an internship on Tenerife for my vocational training as a European secretary. The organisation and the support of the FU were up to a very high standard. During my stay, I could always contact the FU and the employees would help me out with anything I needed. In the Marketing Department I was able to put my knowledge from my vocational training into practice. The experience I gathered here will be of benefit for my further vocational training. I took pleasure in my work and because of the great work atmosphere and the nice colleagues I enjoyed going to work. I’m Anja and I’m 20 years old. I’m doing a language course for four weeks in preparation for my internship in a hotel. I like the classes really very much. I already had three years Spanish at school but I want to improve my knowledge. Our teacher has been able to teach us a lot in only a short time. We practiced the terms and the vocabulary focussed on the hotel business. Our lessons are in the morning, and in the afternoon we have enough free time to make trips. We live near the beach and the weather is very good. In the near future I will start my internship in the hotel and I am looking forward to new experiences in my future profession.

I’m Barbara and I started studying Hotel Management at the International University of Applied Sciences at Bad Honnef-Bonn in 2003. Within the scope of my Studies I am doing an internship for three months on Lanzarote. Before I started my internship, I did a four -week language course in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. This course was great fun and prepared me individually for my internship as an Account Manager in a hotel. FU International Academy showed an interest in my wishes and my personal language requirements. They continue to help and support me and I could not wish for more attention.

Hola, I’m Volker and I’m 30 years old. After some language courses in San Sebastian, Mallorca, Malaga and Tarifa I found FU and did a language course on Tenerife. I liked the place so much that I applied for an internship as a web programmer. I liked the internship, and I got to know many other trainees and students from the language courses. In spite of the demands of work, I had enough time to relax. You can relax at the beach or you go to a cafeteria and read an interesting book. Somebody who has to do an internship or who wants to get work experience abroad should put Tenerife on their shortlist.

I’m Claudia, and I’m 21. I’m doing my internship in the Marketing Department of a Spanish-German company on Tenerife. I like the variety of tasks and the demands of work. Hola! My name’s Anne. I am studying tourism in Cologne and I applied for an internship at the FU due to their good reputation. Through the FU I got an internship in one of the big 5***** Hotels on Lanzarote without problems. The weather is wonderful, the countryside is nice, the people are very friendly and they do a lot of partying! The work is very interesting and stimulating, and because of the influence of the FU International Academy we are treated like students and not as pupils – we are supported and encouraged and I am able to put my theoretical knowledge into practice in the work place.
