Baile de Magos – July 9th in Puerto de la Cruz

The “Baile de Magos“ (“Country Dance“) is a tradition festival where all the musicians, dancers and participants are dressed in national costume. The whole town comes alive with music and dancing. You can try the typically food from Tenerife, such as wine, cheese, bread and Canarian potatoes, which is given away by the local people.
Also in July is the festival called “Gran Sardinada“ which takes part in Puerto de la Cruz, on San Telmo beach, at July 11th. During this event, as the name suggests, you can taste the delicious freshly caught sardines.

Jazz Festival – July 1st to 10th International Festival “Canarias Jazz y Más Heineken“

The event celebrates its 20th birthday this year in the Canary Islands. The programme offers all different kinds of jazz music styles and musicians, from international stars to unknown and “insider tip” musicians. Enjoy ten days non-stop jazz in the Canary Islands. And now here’s the best part: Some concerts will take part in Puerto de la Cruz, in the Plaza Europa which is only a 15 minute walk from the FU International Academy. Michael Bolton live in concert – July 8th, Campo de Golf Costa Adeje

With songs like "Reach out I'll be there" or "Murder my heart" the “Soul Rocker” this star sang himself into the hearts of many fans. Now he will be here at Tenerife on July 8th to give his only concert in Spain this summer. Don’t miss out! Festival of the “Virgen del Carmen” – July 12th in Puerto de la Cruz

On July 12th, the people of Puerto de la Cruz, and especially the fishermen, carry a torch for the Holy Virgin Carmen, the patron saint of the fishermen. For one day the statue of Carmen leaves the church “Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia” together with a big procession and goes to the small harbour of Puerto de la Cruz. From there she goes out to sea to bless the water.
Everybody who can’t see the spectacle from the water will be sure to get wet anyway. The residents pour water over the public from their houses. At night visitors and residents celebrate by dancing in the streets. At the end you can enjoy a beautiful firework display over the harbour. James Blunt live in concert – July 28th in Santa Cruz

James Blunt will not be at Tenerife for the first time. The music video “High” was taken in filmed here. His song “You’re Beautiful” recorded in 2005 brought him worldwide success along with three albums and many awards, such as the World Music Award 2006. The concert takes place in the Sala Sinfónica in the Auditorio de Tenerife "Adán Martín", in Santa Cruz. From Puerto de la Cruz you can catch the direct bus no. 103 to Santa Cruz.
