IV Short Film Festival in La Orotava
The Fourth
La Orotava Film Festival will take place from
October 28th to 30th.
The 2010 edition of the event will feature exhibitions and associated events to complement the festival, which has become a firm favourite for all cinema lovers. Short film screenings will be held in the Theobald Power Auditorium.
The festival includes various activities running in parallel to the showing of the selected short films, including a photographic exhibition of Andrés Padrón, the collector. The Promotional Video Competition, screenings complementary to the official section and a concert which will be the finale of the festival.
Beach Volley Tournament at Siam Park Tenerife
On of the main Beach Volley events of the year will go down from
8th – 10th October 2010 in Tenerife. Once again it will take place in
Siam Park, Europes biggest waterpark.
Because of the mild climate all year round in the Canaries, this is one of the few opprtunities to see world class athletes compete for the title in Europe this time of the year.
For the first time also women will take part in the tournament, Liliana Steiner and Elsa Baquerizo will make the crowed wave their world cup once again.
In the mens tournament Pablo Herrera and Adrián Gavira are going to try to keep the crown in Spain this time.

15. MASDANZA Contemporary Dance Festival
The International Canary Islands Contemporary Dance Festival, MASDANZA, was founded in Gran Canaria in 1996 by Natalia Medina.
Since its inception it has been going from strength to strength; from a small regional festival in the first year to a National festival in the second year second, and now in its sixth year it is an international event.
MASDANZA’s commitment to pushing out the boundaries in dance excellence has lead them to invite well know dance companies to perform at the opening ceremony and at different events during the Festival.
As well as the competition there are many other events: Break-Dance Championship, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and courses.

Joaquín Sabina live in concert
On Saturday 23rd of October at 22:00h Joaquín Sabina will be playing at the Recinto Portuario in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The singer from Úbeda will present his latest work, an album that is being launched under the bitter-sweet title of "Vinegar and Roses".
The fourteen songs are said to be a milestone in his career and a must for lovers of Sabina's music.
"Vinegar and Roses" will realese strong emotions and pain and contains choruses which according to some of his collaborators are born to be chanted in stadiums.
One of the best tracks is undoubtedly 'Tiramisú de limón', a homage to Ángel González, poet who passed away last January, the recording of which involved the duo "Pereza".
